(3) For the purposes of sub-section (1) above, there shall be as many Village Council as may be specified by the Government by notification in the Official Gazette. CHAPTER-II THE GENERAL COUNCIL :'i. The General Council shall be a body corporate liav- ing perpeltlal succession and a common seal with powers to acquire, hold and dispose of properly and to contract :md sllall 'SllC or be sued by its corporate name.
