Powers of the Academic Council:- The Academic Council shall have the following power$ namely:- (i) to make proposals to the Executive Council for the institution of Professorship, Assooiate Professorship, Assistant Professorship or other tachiag posts, and in regard to the duties and emohlments thereof; (ii) to submit to the Exwut jye CQuncii draft Regulations regarding motHs and manner of conducting examinations, including setting up of Moderation Boards and to award Fellowships, Seholuship s, Medals and other rewards in awordance with such Regulations; (iii) (iV) to rwommard examiners for appointrnarts to be made by the Vice- Chancellor after a report Boar the faeultiw concerned; to control the University Library, to 63me Regu]ation$ ng©ding its use, and to appoint a Library Committee under the general con&o] of the Academic Council to manage the aRairs of the library; (V) to assign subjects to the faculties; (Yi) (vii) to assign teachers to the faculties; to promote ws%nh within the UniversiEy, including the esbblishment of a ResentS Council and to call for Ivports on such rm mwh from the persons employed thereon; (viii) (iX) to organise teaching in the University and contrx>1 the engagement of tmchu$ 8nd such other powers and duties as may tn assigned to it undw tho Statute, 6526 THE ASSAM GAZETTE, EXTRAORDDqARY, DECEMBER 12, 2023 Research Advisory Council
