(1) This Act may be called the Assam Irrigation Water Users' Act, 2004. (2) It extends to the whole of Assam. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification in the Assam Gazette, appoint : Provided that different dates may be appointed by the Government for different areas and for different provisions of the Act.
