(1) Any vacancy in the office of the Chairperson or a Member of the Regulatory Authority shall be filled by the State Government as per provisions of rules framed under section 56 by notification in the Official Gazette, as soon as may be, after the occurrence of the vacancy, other than a casual or temporary vacancy. (2) The salary, allowances and other terms and conditions of service of the Chairperson and Members of the Regulatory Authority shall be such as may be prescribed by the State Government under the rules: Provided that their salary, allowances and other terms and conditions of service shall not be varied to their disadvantage after appointment.
