(1) The State Government shall, by notification in the Official Gazette, constitute a Regulatory Authority under the name and style "THE ASSAM INLAND WATER TRANSPORT REGULATORY AUTHORITY". (2) The Regulatory Authority constituted under section (1), shall exercise such powers as may he conferred on it, and discharge such functions assigned to it under the Act and the rules made there under.
