(() This Act may be called the Assam Hom eo- extent an d p a thic Medicine Act, 1955. commence- * ment. (li) It extends to the whole of Assam. (m) It shall come into force on such date as may be notified by Government. Definitions. 2 . In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context— (a) “ Board” means the Board of Homeopathic Medicine constituted under sections 3 and 1 of this Act. (6) “ Chairman” means the Chairman of the Boa rd. (e) “ Homeopathy” means the system of medi cine founded by Dr. Hahnem ann and the expression “ Homeopathic” shall be construed accordingly. (d) “Member” means a member of the Board. (e) “ Prescribed” means prescribed by rules framed under this Act. ( f ) ‘‘Registered Homeopath” means a person who practises the Hom eopath system of medicine as his principal occupation and who is registered under the provision of the Act. (g) “ Register” means the register of Hom eo pathic medical practitioners. (Zt) “ Registrar” means the Registrar appointed under this Act. Constitution of the First and subse quent Boards.
