(1) The Registrar shall be a whole-time salaried officer of the University, and shall be appointed by the Executive Council on such terms, conditions and remuneration as may be pres cribed : Provided that the first Registrar shall be appointed for a period of three years by the Chancellor with the advice of the Provincial Govern ment. (2) The term of office of the Registrar shall be for five years but he shall be eligible for re-appointment. (3) The Registrar shall be ex-officio Secretary of the Court and the Executive Council. (4) It shall be the duty of the Registrar— (a) to be the custodian of the records, Common Seal and such other property of the University as the Executive Council shall commit to his charge ; (Z>) to act as Secretary to the Court and the Executive Council, and to attend, as far as possible, all meetings of the Court, the Executive Council, the Faculties and any Com mittees appointed by the Court, the Executive Council or the Faculties and to keep minutes thereof; fc) to conduct the official correspondence of the Court and the Executive Council ; (a) to issue all notices convening meetings of the Court, the Executive Council, the Faculties, the Academic Council, the Board of Examiners and of any Committees appointed * by the Court, the Executive Council, the Faculties, the Academic Council or any of the Boards ; («) co arrange for and superintend the examinations of the University ; and ( / ) to perform such other work as may, from time to time, be prescribed by the Executive Council.
