In this Act and in the Statutes, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context: (a) “ College” means any College or Institution maintained or admitted to privileges by the University. (b) “ Council” means the University Council. (c) “Court” means the University Court. (d) “ Faculty” means a Faculty of the University. (e) “ Government” means the Government of Assam. ( / ) “ Hall” means a unit of residence for the students of the University maintained or recognised by the University in accordance with the provisions of this Act. (g) “Patron of the University” means a person who has made a donation of not less than Rs.1,00,000 to the funds of the University and has been declared by the Chancellor to be ' a patron of the University. | Price annas 6 or 7d.] 2 (h~) “ Principal” means the head of a College, and includes, where there is no Principal, the person for the time being dety appointed to act as Principal, and, in the absence of the Principal, a Vice-Principal duly appointed as such. (i) “Registered Graduate” means a graduate registered under the provisions of this Act. (j) “ Statutes”, “ Ordinances” and “ Regulations” mean, res pectively, the Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations of the University made under this Act. (A) “Teachers” includes Professors, Readers, Lecturers and other persons imparting instruction in the University or in any. College or Hall.
