(1) The Corporation may, subject to approval of the Government, permanently close the whole or any part of public street: Provided that no such street or part thereof be closed unless for one month at least before the meeting of the Corporation at which the matter is decided, a notice has been posted in the street, or part thereof which it is proposed to be closed inform ing the residents of the said proposal, and until the objections to the said proposal, if any, made in writing at any time before the day of the said meeting have been received and considered by the Corporation. (2) When any public street or part thereof is permanently closed under sub-section (1), the site of such street or the part thereof which has been closed, may be disposed of as land belonging to the Corpora tion.
