(1) The State Government may for the pur- make Rules. pose of carrying out the provisions of this Act, make rules subject to previous publication in the official Gazette. (2) Every rule made under this section shall be laid, as soon as may be, after it is made , b efore the Assam Legislative Assembly while it is in session for a total period of fourteen days which may be com- prised in one session or in two successive sessions o o T HE ASSAM GAZETTE, EXT RAORDINARY, MAY 16, ]969 325 and - if, before the expiry of the session in which it is so laid or the sessions immediately following the Assam Legisla tive Assembly, agree in making any' modification in the rule _or the Assam Legis- lative Assembly agree that the rule should not be made, the rule shall thereafter have effect only in ' . such modified form or be of no effect, as the case may be; so however, that any such modification or annulment shall be without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under th at rule.
