The Assam Farmers (Group Irrigation) Act, 1978

- S. 1(1) This Act may be called the Assam Far- extent and •
- S. 2In this Act, unless there is
- S. 3Section 3 allows two or more farmers to form a group to request an irrigation scheme for their agricultural land.
- S. 5Section 5 mandates the implementation and maintenance of irrigation schemes by farmers or the Irrigation Officer, with penalties for non-compliance.
- S. 6Section penalizes farmers in a group for refusing specified cropping patterns or obstructing irrigation works.
