In the areas where the Assam Panchayati Raj Act, 1972 is in operation the Block Development Officer or, where there is no Block Development Officer, such other officer as may be specified by State Government in this behalf, with the help of such officers of Education Department, as may be attached to him, shall act as a co-ordinating agency, It shall be the duty of the co- ordinating agency to see that the provisions of this Act are observed in the schools.
