The Courts competent to try offences under this Act shall be the following:- (a) in areas where the Panchayati Adalat, has been established under Section 83 of the Assam Panchayati Raj Act,1972 such Adalat within whose jurisdiction the offence is committed ; (b) in other areas the Court of a Magistrate having jurisdiction.
