The Executive Council shall be the Chief Executive Body of the University and shall consist of the following persons, namely;— (i) the Vice-Chancellor, (ii) the Rector, (iii) the Director of Public Instructions, Assam, (iv) the Director of Technical Education, Assam, (v) two Heads of Departments of the depart ments of the University who are professors, to be chosen by the Vice- Chancellor by rotation for a period of three years accor ding to seniority, (vi) two principals of affiliated Degree colleges to be elected by them, (vii) four members of the Court, other than the employees of the University or affiliated or recognized Degree Colleges or institu tions elected by the Court at its Annual General Meeting, (viii) two persons, of whom at least one shall be woman, nominated by the Chancellor, and (ix) two persons nominated by the State Government of Assam.’ 14 Powers and duties of the Executive Council.
