Society to be a body corporate.—Every registered society shall be deem- ed to be a body corporate by the name under which it is registered, with per- petual succession and a common seal, and with power to hold property, to enter- 1 into contracts, to institute and defend suits and other legal proceedings and 10 i « do all things necessary for the purposes for which it was constituted.
