Office-bearer of society is required to furnish information and produa documents.—(1) Every office-bearer of a registered society shall produce docjj ments and books of account, cash balance in his custody, and appear before and furnish such information in regard to the transactions or working of t$ society as may be required of him by the Registrar, or persons authorized by the Registrar in this behalf, an audit officer, arbitrator, liquidator or any perso conducting an inspection or inquiry under the provisions of this Act and the Rules made thereunder. (2) (a) At any sale of property, movable or immovable, held under this Ac or rules framed thereunder, no office-bearer of the registered society concern or any person having any duty to perform in connection with such sale, shall either directly or indirectly bid for, acquire or attempt to acquire any interest in such property. (b) Any office-bearer of a society or a liquidator may on behalf of the society bid and purchase at a sale of mortgaged property. CHAPTER VI Privileges of Registered Societies
