(xviii) “Institute” means the Institute, College or Centre attached to the University as an constituent institution, and the word “institution” shall be construed accordingly; (xix) “NAAC” means National Council of Assessment and Accreditation, Banglore, an antonomous institution of the University Grants Commission (UGC); (xx} “NCTE” means National Council of Teacher Education, Delhi; (xxi) “Other Universities” means the Universities established or deemed to have been established under any other enactments; (xxif) “PCI” means Pharmaceutical Conncil of India, Delhi; (xxiliy ~ “Performing arts” means music, dance, drama- both traditional and modem, ethnic and classical, and any other art forms that need performance to present; (xxiv) “prescribed” means prescribed by Statues, Regulations or Rules of the University; {(xxv) “Regulatory Body” means a body established by the Central Government for laying down norms and conditions for ensuring academic standards of higher education, suc}} as University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council of Technicaf Education (AICTE), National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), Medical Council of India (MCI), 9670 THEASSAM GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, OCTOBER 13, 2022 (xvi} (Oexvii) (xxviii) (xxix) (xxx) (xxxi) (i) (oxxiii) (xxxiv) (xxxv) (xxxvi) Pharmaceutical Council of India (PCI), National Council of Assessment and Accreditation (NAAC), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), Distance Education Council (DEC), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Science and Technology of the Central Government (DST) etc; “Rules” means rules made under this Act; “Section” means a section of this Act; “Selection Committee™means the Selection Committees of the University constituted for selection of candidates for appointment to Teachers and Officers of the University; “Sponsoring Body” means the “The Auniati Education and Sosio-Cultural Development Trust” registered under the Indian Trust Act, 1882; “State™ means the State of Assem; “Statutes”, “Regulations” and “Rules” means respectively the “Statutes”, “Regulations” and “Rules” of the University made under this Act; “Students” means the students of the University, ie. a person enrolled in the University for taking a course of study for a degree, diploma or other academic distinction duly instituted by the University, including a research degree; “Study Centre” means a centre established and maintained or recognized by the University for the purpose of advising, counselling or for rendering any other assistance required by the students in the context of distance learning purpose; “Teachers” means a Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor or such other person imparting instruction or conducting or supervising research either in a constituent college or in a Department/Centre of Study of the University or in an affiliated college as the context may imply ; “UGC” means the University Grants Commission established by the Govemnment of India under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; “University” means the Auniati University, Teok, established under this Act; Central Act No.2 of 1882, Central Act No.3
