(1) This Act may be called as Assam Apartments (Construction and Transfer of Ownership) Act,2006. (2) It extends to the whole of Assam. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint, in respect of the areas, cities and towns as may be specified in such notifications ; Provided that different dates may be appointed for different areas, cities and towns or group of areas or cities or towns as the Government may deem fit and proper.
