(1) Agricultural Experimental and Research Stations shall be established under the University subject to the provisions of this Act and the Statutes which shall have the responsibility for Research, both fundamental and applied. Research activities shall be conducted at the central Research Stations and other Regional Research and 18 Experimental Stations to be established in the different Agro-climatic zones of the State . (2) The Assam Agricultural College, Jorhat and the Assam Veterinary College, Khanapara of the State Departments of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary together with their staff and funds shall be transferred to the Agricultural University on such terms and conditions as specified in sub-sections (2) , (5), (6), (7) and (8) of section 47.
