(1) Notwithstanding anything to the con- A s s a - A ct Troviiions. trary in this Act or the Gauhati University Act orxviofl«47. the Dibrugarh University Act or Statutes and Regula- A«sam Act tions made under any of these aforesaid enactments, .Yil1 o f any student who immediately or prior to the appointed date was studying in a College which has been or ma y hereafter be admitted to the privileges of the University for degree, diploma, or certificate of the Gauhati or Dibrugarh University shall in accordance with the Re gulations of this University made for the purpose be entitled to be examined by and if on the results of such examination be qualified to be entitled to be conferred with corresponding degree, diploma, or certificates as the case may be of the * University established under this Act.
