(1) There shall be a Director of Research and tor of Re- Associate Director of Research, who shall be a Whole- Associate t i m e s.a ^a r i e d officer of the University responsible to Director of Vice-Chancellor. He shall be appointed by the Research.. Vice-Chancellor with the prior approval of the Board in accordance with the Statutes made in this respect. The Director of Research and Associate Director of Re search shall be responsible for the direction and co-ordi nation of research programme as set forth in section 33 of this Act and efficient working of the research stations. (2) The Director and the Associate Director of Research shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be conferred or- imposed on him by the Statutes.
