(1) subject to the provision of sub-section (3) Section 8 every market committee shall elect, the manner prescribed, one of its members to its Chairman and another member to be its Vice-Chairman. (2) The Chairman and the Vice-Chairman shall exercise such powers and carry cut such duties on behalf of the Committee under this Act and the rules made thereunder from time to time, as may be prescribed. (3) Whenever for any reason, the offices of both the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman of any Market Committee fall vacant, the State Govern ment shall appoint any one from amongst the members of such market committee as the Chairman to hold office as such temporarily, till a Chairman is elected. 14 (4) The Chairman, or in his absence, the Vice-Chairman shall preside at every meeting of the market committee and in the absence of both the Chairman and the Vice-Chairman at any meeting, the members present shall elect one from amongst them selves to preside over that meeting. (5) When a meeting is held for the removal of the Chairman or the Vice-Chairman or both, (6) (a) the Vice-Chairman or in his absence, a member duly elected at the meeting shall preside, if the resolution relates to the removal of the Chairman, a > (b) the Chairman or in his absence a member duly elected at the meeting, shall preside if the resolution relates to the removal of the Vice-Chair- » man.
