Notwithstanding anything contained in any other law for the time being in force, no local authority shall prescribe, by bye-law or otherwise, any standard of weights, and any standard of weight in force by reasons of such prescription, on the day this Act comes into force, shall so far as it is inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be void. Prohibition of local practice.
