Survey order and appointment of survey officer : (1) Where in pursuance of section 9(3), a State Road Authority wishes to have a survey made with a view to the preparation of authoritative plan or plans for any State road in its charge, it shall request the State Government in writing to order the survey and appoint a Survey Officer of the rank of Group-A, grade for the purpose. (2) If, on receipt of such request and after making such further enquiries as may be deemed necessary, the State Government is satisfied about the need for such survey, it may, by notification published in the Official Gazette, order that the proposed survey shall be made and shall simultaneously appoint a Survey Officer of the rank of Group-A, grade for the purpose.
