In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- *[(a) ] [Omitted by 1987 Amendment Act,s.2(i) wef 03/07/1987 (b )" Assembly" means the Legislative Assembly of the *[State]of Arunachal Pradesh; [substituted by 1987 amendment Act (no 4 of 1987) ),s.2(ii) wef 03/07 /l 987] © "Deputy Speaker' means the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly; (d) "family" in relation to the Speaker or the Deputy Speaker means his wife residing with him and legitimate children and step children residing with and wholly dependent on him. (Not more than one wife shall be included in his family for the purpose of this Act.) If the Speaker or the Deputy Speaker is a married woman family shall include her husband residing with her; (e) "Government" means the Government of the "[State] of Arunachal Pradesh ; *[( ea) Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.] "[Inserted by 1987 Amendment Act (no 4 of 1987 ),s.2(2) wef 03/07/1987] (f) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act; (g) "Schedule" means the Schedule appended to this Act; (h) "Speaker" means the Speaker of the Assembly; ------------------ Short title and commencement. Definitions. (9 (i) "Travelling Allowance" means the allowance granted to Speaker/Deputy Speaker under this Act to cover the expenses which he incurs in travelling in the interest of the public service as against travelling in personal interest or private purpose, such as journeys for rest, recoupment of health, attending party meetings or election campaign; (j) 'usual place of residence" means a place declared by the Speaker /Deputy Speaker to be his residence in his home district or any other place declared by him as such, *[3.0n and from the date the Arunachal Pradesh Speaker and Deputy Speaker Salaries and Allowances(Arnendment) Act. 2017 comes into force, there shall be paid to the Speaker a composite salary of Rupees One Lac Twenty Eight Thousand per mensern and to the Deputy Speaker a composite salary of Rupees One Lac Twenty Four Thousand per mensern.
