Obiects ol the University : The objectives for which the university is established are as follows: (i) to provide for instructlon in the disciplines specified but not limited in Schedule and to make provisions for research and lor the advancement and dissemination of knowledge : 129 (ii) to grant, subject to such conditions as the University may determine, diplomas or certificate, and confer degrees or other academic dlstinctions on the basis of examinations. evaluation to any other method of testing on persons, and to withdraw any such diplomas, certificates, degrees or other academic distinctions for good and sufficient cause : (iii) to organize and to undertake extra-mural studies and extension service; (iv) to confer honorary degrees or other distinctions in the manner prescribed; (v) to provide instruction, including conespondence and such other coursed, as it rnay determine; lvi) to institute Professorships, Readerships, Lectureships and other teaching or academic posts required by the University and to make appointment thereto; (vii) to create administrative, academically and other posts and to make appointments thereto; (viii) to appoint persons working in any other university or organization having specific knowledge permanently or for a specified period; (ix) to co-operate, collaborate or associate with any other university or authority or instilution in such manner and for such purpose as the University may determine; (x) to establish study centers and maintain schools, institutions and such centers, specialized laboratories or other units for research and instructions as are in the opinion of the University, necessary tor the furtherance of ils object. (xi) to institute and award fellowships, scholarships, studentships, medals and prizes; (xii) to establish and maintain hostels for students of the University; (xiii) to make provisions for research and consultancy, and for that purpose to enter into such arrangements with other institutions or bodies as the University may deem necessary; (xiv) (xv) (xvi) (xvii) (xviii) (xix) (xx) (xxi) (xxii) (xxiii) (xxiv) {xxv) (xxvi) (xxvii) (xxviii) 130 to determine standards for admission into the University, which may include examination. evaluation or any other method of testing ; to demand and receive payment of fees and other chargesj to supervise the residences of the students of the University and to make arrangements for the promotion of their health and general welfare; to make special anangements in respect of wcmen students as the University may consider desirable; to regulate and enforce d iscipline am ong the employees and students of the University and take such disciplinary measures in this regard as may be deemed necessary by the University; to make arrangements for promoting the health and general welfare of the employees of the University; to receive donations and acquire. bold, manage and dispose of any movable immovable property; to borrow money with the approval of the Sponsoring Body for the purposes of the University; t0 mortgage or hypothecate the property of the University with the approval of the Sponsoring Body; to establish examination centers; Counseling centers; information centers: to set up off campus centre or information centers within the state of Arunachal Pradesh and/or any part of lndia and Abroad ; and to do all such other acts and things as may be necessary, incidental or conducive to the attainment of all or any of the objects ol the University. To establish a campus at Aalo in the State of Arunachal Pradesh and to have afliliated institutions, colleges, schools. and approved study centers, Academic Centers, otf Campus program Centers /lnstitutions and to establish Regional Campus(es) at different places in lndia and other countries. To create higher levels of intellectual abilities. To establish state of the art facilities for education, training and research. 131 (xxix) To offer programs through multi modal form of education. (xxx) To institute degrees, diplomas, certificated and other academic distinctions on the basis ol examination, or any other mode ol evaluation and assessment as laid down by the academic council. (xxxi) To ensure that the standard oF the degrees, diplomas, ce rtificated and other academic distinctions of high standard. (xxxii) To ofter continuing distance education both formal and/or inlormal. (xxxiii) To confer honorary degrees and other academic distinctions in the manner laid down in the statutes. (xxxiv) (xxxv) (xxxvi) (xxxvii) (xxxviii) (xxxix) (xxxx) To encourage and promote research activities and set up independent research institutions lor pure and applied research, and institute awards and fellowship at instltutions other than the University for undertaking research. To atfiliate or collaborate with any other college or u niversity, research institution, industryassocialion, professional associa- tion or any other organization. in lndia or overseas, or conceptualize, design and develop specific educational and research programs, training programs and exchange programs for students, faculty members and others. To recognize the various courses and programs offered by the individuals, institutions, and organizations in various streams of education oftered in the multimode methodology of teaching. To undertake surveys, studies and consultancy for any organization in lndia ot overseas. To undertake programs of the training and development ol faculty members of the University and other institutions in lndia or overseas. To undertake collaborative research with any organization in lndia or overseas, and undertake com mercialization of technologies. To develop, register and license all forms of intellectual property rights, including, interalia. trademarks, copyrights, know-how and patents etc. (xxxxi) (xxxxii) (xxxxiii) tJz To conceptualize, design, develop and commercialize various products. equipmenl and machlnery as part of the research and development activity. To provide "Education For All" which includes Formal modes of instruction keeping in view the literacy and the educational needs of deprived sections of the society by establishing informal educational centers in and out side the state of Arunachal Pradesh. to achieve cent per cent literacy and education at least up to the level of Matriculate. To bring higher education within the reach of l\.4ajority of the youth aspiring higher qualilication and/or research by a network of formal institutions such as regional campuses. off-campus programme centers and academic centers throughout the country in accomplishment of the prime objective "Desired Education For All". (xxxxiv) To encourage sports, cultural, extra curricular and co- curricular activities for students and statf. (xxxxv) To do things necessary or expedient to promote the above objectives. (xxxxvi) To pursue any other objective as may be approved by the Board.
