(1) Not less than one- third of the total number of seats to be filled by direct election in every Municipality shall be reserved for women. (2) The State Government shall by notification determine the number of seats and constituency or constituencies in which seats are reserved under sub-section (1) above: Provided that the seats reserved under subsection (I) and (2) shall be allotted by rotation to different constituencies in the Municipality in such manner as may be prescribed.
