(1) The State Government may, by notification, appoint a State Municipal Vigilance Authority in such manner, consisting of a Chairperson and such other members, and on such terms and conditions, as maybe prescribed, for inquiring into any complaint of corruption, misconduct' lack of integrity or any other kind of malpractice or misdemeanour on the part of any officer or other employee of a municipality and for making recommendation to the Empowered Standing Committee. (2) No Councillor and no officer or other employee of any Municipality shall be the State Municipal Vigilance Authority. Chapter-VI Functional Domain of Municipalities
