If, during excavation or any other operation for the purpose of construction of any building or execution of any work, any of the underground utilities (such as electric or telephone cables, water supply, drainage and sewerage mains and gas pipes) is touched or is likely to be touched or if the Chief Municipal Executive Officer/ Municipal Executive Officer is of the opinion that such excavation may cause danger to the public, the Chief Municipal Executive Officers Municipal Executive Officer may by order in writing stop forthwith any such excavation or other work till the matter is investigated and decided to his satisfaction.
