(1) The Municipal Authorities for the purposes of giving effect to the Provisions of this Act shall be,- (a)in the case of a Class 'A or Class 'B' or Class ‘C’, Smaller urban area,- i. The Municipal Council, ii. The Empowered Standing Committee, iii. The Municipal Chairperson, and iv. The Municipal Executive Officer; (b) In the case of a Nagar Panchayat,- i. The Nagar Panchayat, ii. the Empowered Standing Committee, iii. the Municipal President, and iv. The Municipal Executive Officer. (2) The presiding officer of the Municipality shall be, in the case of- a. The Municipal Council, the Municipal Chairperson, and, b. The Nagar Panchayat, the Municipal President.
