(1) If, the State Government, at any time, declares that the provisions of any law relating to canals or any other law for the time being in force are applicable to any navigable channel which passes through the limits of a municipal area, that Government may with the consent of the concerned Municipality, appoint such Municipality to collect tolls in accordance with the provisions of such law until the State Government otherwise directs, and the profits derivable there from, or such part thereof as may be agreed upon between the State Government and the Municipality, shall be credited to the Municipal Fund. (2) In every such case, the Municipality shall exercise all the powers vested in Toll on bridges. Toll on heavy truck and bus, Declaration of ferries as municipal ferries.
