State Government to direct by notification Elementary Education to be free and compulsory in the entire State-(1) The State Government may, by order, direct that with effect from the commencement of such academic year and for children with such age group ( 6-14) as may be specified in the order, elementary education shall be free and compulsory in the entire State: Provided that a child who has completed the age of five years shall not be denied admission into the school. (2) Every order under sub-section (1) shall be.- ( a) Published in the Official Gazette and in such other manner as the State Government may decide ; 500 (b) So made as to ensure that there is an interval of not less than thirty days between the date of the publication of the order and the first day of the specified academic year. (3) No order shall be made under sub-section ( l) in respect of school unless the State Government is satisfied that necessary facilities have been provided in that school for imparting elementary education to all children.
