Powers and functions of the Board - (1) The Board shall exercise and perform the following powers and functions, namely:- (a) to approve the budget of the University presented by the Vice- Chancellor ; (b) to appoint the teachers of the University and such other employees of the University as may be prescribed on the recommendation of the Selection Committee Constituted under section 34: Provided that the Board may invite any person of High academic distinction and professional attainments to accept the post of Professor in the University and appoint him to that post.
