Definitions - In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires:- (a) "academic council" means the Academic Council of the University; 2 [(aa) “affiliated college/educational institution” means a college/educational institution affiliated to the university providing courses of study qualifying students for admission to university examinations in accordance with the Regulations; (ab) “affiliated college” means a college within the University area affiliated to the university in accordance with the conditions prescribed;] (b) "appointed day" means the date appointed under sub-section (3) of section 1 for the coming into force of this Act; (c) "authority" means any Authority of the University specified in section 18; (d) "board" means the Board of Management of the University; 3[(da) “college” means a college established and maintained by, or affiliated to, or recognized by the University;] (e) "faculty" means a Faculty of the University; (f) "government" means the state Government;
