Short title, extent Commencement and application - (1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Shops and Establishments Act, 1988. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Andhra Pradesh. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification, appoint. (4) It shall apply- (i) in the first instance to all areas in which the Andhra Pradesh Shops and Establishments Act, 1966 was in force immediately before the commencement of this Act; (ii) to such other areas in the State on such date as the Government may, by notification, specify.
