Constitution, powers and functions of 2[District Education Management Committee] – (1) There shall be constituted for each district a 2[District Education Management Committee] consisting of following members namely:- (i) the Chairman of the Zilla Parishad, who shall be Chairman of the Committee; (ii) the Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad who shall be the Member - Convenor; (iii) ten parents to be 3[nominated] in the prescribed manner by and from among the parent members of the 4[School Management Committees] in the District of whom not less than five shall be women; and one shall be from Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribes and one from Minority Community; 1 .
