Committee to exercise the powers of the Civil Court - (1) The Committee constituted under section 11 shall, while discharging the duties under this Act, have all the powers of a Civil Court while trying a suit under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Central Act V of 1908) in respect of the following matters, namely:- (a) summoning and enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath; (b) requiring the discovery and production of any document; (c) receiving evidence on affidavits; (d) requisitioning any public record or copy thereof from any court or office; and (e) issuing commissions for the examination of witnesses or documents. (2) For purposes of discharging its duties the Committee shall have the right' to inspect or cause to be inspected any office or establishment referred to in sub-section (1) of section 11.
