Appointment of authorised officers - (1) The Government may, by notification, appoint one or more persons as authorised officers who shall be competent to act under this Act. (2) every person appointed under sub-section (1) shall be deemed to be a public servant within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Central Act 45 of 1860).
