(1) In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires; (a) “Government” means the State Government; (b) “Police Officer” means any member of the Andhra Pradesh Police and includes an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer working in connection with the affairs of the State and the Andhra Pradesh Police; (c) “State” means the State of Andhra Pradesh; 1 Subs. By Act 17 of 2018 s.2, for long title (w.e.f.26-12-2017) 3 (2) Words and expressions used in the Act, but not defined specifically shall have the same meaning as provided in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974) and the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Central Act 45 of 1860).
