Casual Vacancies of Members – 3[(1) A casual vacancy in the office of a member shall be filled at a casual election which shall be fixed by the Election Authority to take place twice in a year, one in the month of April and another in the month of October: Provided that no casual election shall be held to fill a casual vacancy occurring within three months before the date on which the term of office of the member expires by efflux of time and that such vacancy shall be filled at the next general elections of the Corporation.] (2) A member elected to a casual vacancy shall enter upon office forthwith but shall hold office only so long as the member in whose place he is elected would have been entitled to hold office if the vacancy had not occurred.
