Powers and duties of the Milk Commissioner:- The Milk Commissioner shall perform all or any of the following functions namely, - (i) Carry out the survey of the Milk procurement centres/ BMCUs/Dairies engaged in the usage of Milk analyzers in the state to find out compliance by such units of the standards notified by this Act. (ii) Conduct or organize training programmes to the personnel of the office of the commissioner or any other personnel fit to. 8 (iii) Ensure an efficient and uniform implementation of the standards and other requirements as specified and also ensure a high standard of objectivity, accountability, practicability, transparency and credibility; (iv) Sanction prosecution for offenses punishable with imprisonment under this Act. (v) Such other functions as the State Government may deem fit for effective implementation of the provisions of the Act and Rules.
