Periphery area of the development area - (1) The Government may, by notification, declare such of the outer area adjacent to the development area, consisting of such villages or at a distance specified on all sides of the development area, to be the periphery area of the Authority as it deems fit. (2) On declaration of an area under the sub-section (1) as a periphery area,- (a) The Authority constituted under the Act shall also be Authority for the periphery area; and (b) The powers and functions of the Authority, the Executive Committee and the Metropolitan Commissioner / Vice-Chairperson shall extend to the periphery area. (3) In order to regulate the developments in the periphery area, the Authority may prepare separate development plans for the periphery area in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
