Ports Facility Security Officer and his functions - (1) There shall be an officer appointed as the Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) to each operating Port in the manner prescribed. (2) The Port Facility Security Officer shall be responsible for overall security of the Port and interact for the purpose with all security organisations such as Coast Guard, Indian Navy, State Marine Police and other organisations and ensure the enforcement and regulation of various aspects of the Port Security. (3) The Port Facility Security Officer shall get the port security audited by the Indian Registrar of Shipping duly involving the Naval authorities of the local areas.
