General penalty - Whoever contravenes the provisions of this Act or any rule or regulations made thereunder or fails to comply with any notice, order or requisition issued under this Act shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment which may extend, to six months or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees or with both.
