Prohibition of construction of any facility for extraction of surface water without approval of Corporation - No person shall construct, operate or maintain within the area of operation of any project or work or scheme vested in or entrusted to the Corporation any facility for the extraction of surface water, without the prior approval of the Corporation: Provided that the Government or a Local Authority may, construct and operate such facility, or assign or hand over such facility to the Corporation.
