However, after the implementation of University Grants Commission (UGC) scales, the remuneration offered to the teachers in the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), semi-autonomous institutions is not attractive. The faculty structure and organizational chart needs modification as per Medical Council of India (MCI) regulations. Hence, the semi-autonomous institutions have to be converted to regular Government institutions for the sake of administrative convenience and for effective functioning. And whereas, it has, become necessary to repeal the Andhra Pradesh Government Medical and Dental Institutions (Conversion into Semi- Autonomous Institutions) Act, 2007. 2 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Sixty-ninth year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1.Short title and commencement - (1)This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Government Medical and Dental Institutions (Conversion into Semi- Autonomous Institutions) (Repeal) Act, 2018. (2) It shall come into force at once.
