Auxiliary fire services - (1) Whenever it appears to the Government that it is necessary to augment the service, they may raise an auxiliary service by enrolment of volunteers for such areas and on such terms and conditions as they may deem fit. (2) Every member of the auxiliary service enrolled under sub-section (1) shall,- (a) receive a certificate in the prescribed form; (b) be vested with all or any of the powers, functions and privileges of a member of the service as are specially mentioned in the certificate; and (c) be subject to the orders of the Director- General.
