The Executive Council - (1) The Executive Council of the University shall consist of the following members namely: - Class I – Ex-officio members- (a) Vice-Chancellor of the University; 1[‘‘(b) the Secretary to Government in the Higher Education Department or an Officer in the Higher Education Department nominated by the Government; (c) the Secretary to Government in the Finance Department or an Officer in the Finance Department nominated by the Government;”] (d) Chairperson, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education; (e) Commissioner of Collegiate Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh; Class II(A) – other members nominated by Government:- (a) one Principal of an Affiliated College of the University; (b) one senior teacher from among the permanent teachers of the Affiliated Colleges; (c) one eminent person representing Industry / Commerce / Banking; (d) One eminent person representing education; (e) one eminent person representing the legal profession. Class II (B) – other members nominated by Vice-Chancellor:- (a) one Senior Professor of the University; (b) one Principal of the University of Constituent Colleges or Dean of a Faculty or School; 1.Substituted by the Act No.26 of 2022, s.5 (c) one senior teacher from among the permanent teachers of the University Colleges or Schools; (2) Every member of the Executive Council, other than the ex-officio members, shall hold office for a period of three(3) years from the date of appointment / or nomination subject to the pleasure of the Chancellor. (3) The Executive Council shall meet at least once in three months, and may meet more often, if necessary. (4) Upon a requisition in writing signed by not less than one third of the total number of the members of the Executive Council, the Vice-Chancellor shall convene a meeting of the Executive Council on a date fixed by him which shall not be later than seven days from the date of receipt of the requisition aforesaid. (5) The quorum for a meeting of the Executive Council shall be a minimum of five (5) members of whom at least two shall be from among the ex-officio members.
