Registrars/Marriage Officers to be deemed public servants - All Registrars of Marriages or Marriage Officers and other Officers appointed under this Act, shall while acting or purporting to act in pursuance of the provisions of this Act or any rule or order made thereunder, shall be deemed to be public servants within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code.
