Forum for appeals - (1) An appeal shall, when it is allowed by law, lie from any decree or order in a civil suit or proceeding – (i) of the Chief Judge or the Additional Chief Judge of the City Civil Court, to the High Court; (ii) of the *[Senior Civil Judge] of the City Civil Court – (a) to the Court of the Chief Judge, when the amount or value of the subject matter of the suit or proceeding 4[is not more than rupees 5[five lakhs]]; (b) to the High Court in other cases; and (iii) 6[of the *[Junior Civil Judge] of the City Civil Court, to the Court of the Chief Judge.] (2) The Chief Judge may, subject to the orders of the High Court, transfer for disposal any appeal filed in the City Civil Court to any Additional Chief Judge or any *[Senior Civil Judge].
